Hello,
I'm a new Comsol user and would like to ask a practical/technical question regarding one of your demos.
The relevant model ID is 2014, Simulation of Magnetic Brake.
I tried to extend the model to include a time-varying magnetic field. Actually, what I did is simply define the magnetic field as an harmonic function.
No error occured and it runs. However, I suspect that the model equations solve the quasi-static problem,e.g, eddy-current brake force due to time varying magnetic flux change doesn't occur.
It is obvious that while there's a relative velocity between the magnetic pole and the rotating disc an eddy-current force is obtained. However, I'm looking for the exact problem but with the addon of the time-varying phenomena.
Is it possible in Comsol ? Can you help me out in order to extend the current demo model (ID 2014) to my needs ?
Thanks in advance,
Noam Barak
