How to create a crack in 3D iron plate

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to simulate the Eddy Current Thermography Testing to detect the crack on the surface of material.
My problem is that I don't know how to create the crack on the surface in 3D iron simulation.
Could you help me to solve that problem?
